“Mankind will not have peace until it turns with trust to My Mercy.”

-From the revelations of Our Lord to St. Faustina in the 1930′s

We, the Mission of Divine Mercy, invite your help in Building a Home for Mercy here in the Texas Hill Country.

Our property, Mission La Divina Misericordia, is comprised of 128 rustic acres, and is the center of our Community’s apostolic activity. Soon, please God, it will also house the first permanent monastery of our Community.

In 2004, having very little money but feeling that the Lord was calling us to a leap of faith, we made the first down payment on the property. In November of 2010, four years ahead of schedule, we made the final payment on the land!

Now, with the property paid off, we are set to begin a long-awaited two-pronged development plan at the Mission; a plan that we call “Building a Home for Mercy.”

DEVELOPMENT PLAN

Since our founding and our arrival in the Archdiocese of San Antonio in 2001, we have been living in two houses most generously made available to us through the profound charity of a local couple. To better live our calling we are seeking to build a monastery, which will be our home, at the Mission. This will enable us to receive new vocations which we can not do currently. And especially this will permit Jesus, Our Lord of Mercy, to dwell there continually in the Eucharist. Only then will the Mission truly become a Sanctuary for aching mankind.

Phase One will develop our housing.

It will be a double monastery, with a cloister for the men and a cloister for the women united by a common Chapel. This Chapel will be open to the public throughout the day and visitors will be welcome to join the Community during times of daily Mass and prayer.

The monastery will be located on a small knoll to be known as Tepeyac in honor of the hill where St. Juan Diego was first visited by Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Phase Two will create new retreat facilities.

This will enable us to serve a greater number of people, and to serve them more comfortably. These simple rustic facilities will be known as Camp O’Callaghan in honor of Monsignor Eugene O’Callaghan who, while Pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, so graciously welcomed and mentored the Mission of Divine Mercy during our first years in New Braunfels.

Phase Two will include:

a)A new Pavilion with kitchen that will serve for retreats, receptions, conferences, and as a gathering area and dining hall. It is planned to seat two hundred persons.

b) Dormitory accommodations for seventy people. This will be accomplished by adapting St. Michael’s Hall to function as a permanent dormitory, and by building additional dormitory units.

c) Improving the infrastructure to make the Mission more accessible for people of all ages and physical abilities. This will involve upgrades to our roads, walkways, parking spaces, and outdoor lighting.

The projected cost for these two phases of development is approximately $5.5 million.

Yes, that gives us pause. But so does the situation of our world today which seems to call out for a refuge of Mercy as never before. We sense that this is the Lord’s plan and so we move forward, entrusting this campaign to the Most Holy Trinity and asking for the intercession of Our Blessed Mother and the Holy Angels.

And we ask YOU to pray to see if you are being called to help Build this Home for Mercy.

“In the Mercy of God the world will find peace and mankind will find happiness.”

(Pope John Paul II)

“I ask God’s blessing for the Mission of Divine Mercy and all those who are helping to develop Mission La Divina Misericordia so that it can be ever more a place where many can experience God’s Mercy.”

-Archbishop Gustavo Siller, Archdiocese of San Antonio
